Welcome to 4B
My name is Mr. de Santos. This is my 16th year teaching at Park Elementary and I am very excited about the coming school year. I look forward to teaching your child. It is going to be a fun and exciting year.
My teaching philosophy is simple. Discipline is the key to a successful classroom. I believe respect has to exist between the teacher, parent and student. We will learn all the facets of education as well as social and life skills to ensure that your child is successful not only at Park Elementary but in life. My classroom is always open to parents and I encourage you to be active participants in the school community.
I believe in two-way communication between parents and the school. If you need to contact me, please feel free to call or text me at 328-7026 or email me at [email protected]. If you would like to set up a conference or speak to me in person, please call or text me to arrange a time and date. My conference period is daily from 1:00 to 1:45, with the exception of Wednesdays. If you need to call the office, the phone number is 236-5975.
I am a firm believer in technology and try to use it in my curriculum on a daily basis. Students in my class are encouraged to use I-station, Myon and Prodigy during the school day and at home. Students will also use iPads, digital cameras, video cameras and laptop computers throughout the year for various projects
Please keep up with your child's progress through the EPISD Parent Portal. It is the most updated information available on grades for your child. Click on the following link to access the site.

I am a 1979 graduate of Park Elementary. I also attended Canyon Hills Middle School and Irvin High School. After graduating from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1993, I worked as the Sports Information Officer for the UTEP Athletic Department. In 1997 I left UTEP and began working as the Public Information Officer for the Texas Department of Transportation. In 2004 I began my teaching career as a fourth grade teacher at Park Elementary. I have been here ever since. I hold a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University and hope to be an administrator in the future. I am very involved in the community and currently sit on three different boards. I have been active in PTA, athletics and my church.
